2nd Annual Hobo Party

My parents have started a tradition of having a annual summer hobo party. They have all the neighborhood kids and parents dress up as hobo's and have fun games and activities. The kids eat out of pie tins and the dinner is cooked in coals under a garbage can (at least that is the idea-it isn't perfected yet). There are gunny sack races, pie eating contests, a tug-o-war, and a train ride. The kids have a blast. This year there were about 70 people there and it was a great time. Here are some pictures from the event.

(Dogs even get to be dressed up too!)

My 1st Baby Shower

I had my first baby shower last weekend and it was so adorable. My neighbors came up with the cutest decorations and most delicious food. It was wonderful. I am so lucky to have such great friends. I didn't get pictures of any of the people or any of the gifts, but I did manage to get some pictures of the food. My sister was taking all the people shots while I was sociallizing so I will have to get the pictures from her camera.
Aren't these the cutest fruit shis-ka-bobs ever! They glued a flower on the top of the skewer and put them in foam so they would stand up straight. What a cute idea.

They also did cute drinks with flowers on a toothpick and a piece of pineapple on them and delicious mini tarts on flower coasters. So adorable and delicious too.

The food was delicious. They had a variety of breads and dips that were scrumptious and lime flavored water. Thank you guys so much for such a fun shower!

27 Weeks

So, I may not be a very nice pregnant person, but don't deal well with all the comments about how huge I am. Not the comments from my brother who is just trying to get under my skin, or the comments from close friends who have the "I'm-super-excited-for-you" tone in their voice, but those people who you really don't know very well that feel the need to tell you that you are SO much bigger than they EVER got and how you are ONLY 6 month along and how could you ever be any BIGGER. I hate those comments, like the one I got in church today. I decided the best thing for me to do was to say yes I am BIG and it happens when you are pregnant and walk away, then go outside for a few minutes so I didn't get really upset. If only I had my friend Cody's Incredible Hulk boxing gloves so I could do some serious damage to a brick wall...

On a positive note, I think she realized what she said wasn't exactly the best choice of words, and apologized later. :-)
